Governmental visit

Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, inspected the Technotex factory—one of the Nile Group companies—specializing in ready-made garments, located in the Second Industrial Zone in 15th of May City.Accompanying the minister during the tour were Dr. Nahed Youssef, Chairperson of the Industrial Development Authority, along with a number of senior officials from the Ministry of Industry. The minister was received at the factory by Walid El-Zorba, Chairman of the company, and Eng. Ihab El-Zorba, Vice Chairman.Kamel El-Wazir emphasized that Egypt enjoys a strong reputation in the ready-made garments industry. The factory spans an area of 55,000 square meters, with an annual production capacity of 9.5 million pieces and a local component ratio of 35%. It generates annual exports worth EGP 3 billion, with 100% of its production exported to markets in 12 countries, most notably the United States, Europe, and Turkey. The group employs around 5,000 workers. During the visit, the minister toured the shirt and trousers production lines, as well as the packaging unit, laser section, and laundry area.Technotex’s plan for the coming yearThe minister also listened to a detailed presentation from Eng. Walid Kamal, the group’s factory manager, on production processes and the company’s future plans for 2026. These plans aim to increase the workforce to 8,000 employees and boost production capacity to 14.7 million pieces annually, with total exports expected to reach EGP 4.7 billion.The minister praised the factory’s products, noting that their full export orientation reflects the competitiveness of Egyptian products in global markets. He stressed that the ready-made garments sector is among the industries targeted for expanding local production capacity, given its labor-intensive nature and low energy consumption, as well as Egypt’s well-established reputation in this field. He also highlighted that Egypt possesses all the necessary factors to advance this industry, including the availability of raw materials, skilled and trained labor, and the technological and knowledge capabilities required to enhance product quality and meet both domestic demand and export market needs.
